More Bad Polls For McCain
Hmm, I thought McCain was kicking so much ass recently, and Obama's supporters were so dispirited, that McCain would be taking a lead in the polls by now.
Guess not.
Maybe McCain's horrible gaffes last week, topped off by the "Nation of Whiners" brouhaha, really did hurt him.
But as happy as I am to see these polls, take them with a big grain of salt. None of these polls really mean much right now. Wait until after the convention bounces die out, around September 10th, to see where the race really stands.
A lot will happen between now and then.

Obama: 50

CBS/NY Times:
Obama: 45
McCain: 39
Rasmussen:
Obama: 47
McCain: 45
Gallup:

A recent poll by the New York times shows that only 1 out 3 Whites (35%) had favorable rating for McCain. The other large group was Undecided/need more info and that was the same (35%) while 29% of Whites (also 1 out 3) had unfavorable ratings for McCain.
For Blacks the spread was 5% favorable for McCain, 39% undecided/need more info, and 59% unfavorable. Wait till the 39% hear about his record.
