John McWorried
As I've written many times, John McCain is doing much worse right now than he needs to be. Obama has some great moments ahead, which can only increase his poll numbers: VP selection, overseas trip, convention speech, debate performance.
So the McCain camp should be damn worried that they are still trailing in the polls, sometimes by large margins. So it is no surprise that the McCain campaign is getting rid of their campaign manager and starting from scratch. This despite having a three month lead on Obama, a lead that they totally squandered.
Maybe this will turn things around. Hillary's campaign became much better when they got rid of Patti Solis Doyle. But I guess time will tell. No campaign manager can make John McCain a better candidate. No campaign manager can make him younger or less Bush-like.
